Our Programs

The Sertoma Club of Nashville has been serving Middle Tennessee for over 75 years with a special focus on hearing health and community support. Our dedicated members work together through various programs to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need throughout our region. Through weekly gatherings, financial support, and strategic partnerships, we continue our mission of "Service to Mankind."

Weekly Lunch and Keynote Speakers

Our weekly lunch meetings form the backbone of the Sertoma Club of Nashville's community engagement. Every week, members gather to connect, collaborate, and learn from distinguished keynote speakers who provide valuable insights on topics ranging from local initiatives to broader social issues. These luncheons create a vibrant forum where members can network with like-minded individuals committed to community service while staying informed about important developments in Nashville and beyond.

The diverse array of speakers includes community leaders, nonprofit directors, healthcare professionals, and experts in hearing health. These presentations not only educate our members but also inspire new ideas for service projects and community partnerships. The weekly gatherings strengthen our organizational bonds and ensure that our service efforts remain relevant and responsive to the evolving needs of Middle Tennessee residents. The fellowship fostered during these meetings has been instrumental in maintaining our club's legacy of meaningful community impact for over seven decades.

Grants Program to Community Nonprofits and Charity

The Sertoma Club of Nashville operates a robust grants program that provides critical financial support to nonprofit organizations throughout Middle Tennessee. Our funding priorities focus on organizations that align with our mission of community service, with special emphasis on those addressing hearing health and assistance for underserved populations.

Through careful stewardship of resources, we've established a sustainable funding model that allows us to make meaningful contributions to worthy causes year after year. Our grants have supported educational initiatives, healthcare services, and community development projects that directly improve the quality of life for local residents. The application process is designed to identify organizations with demonstrated impact and sound financial management, ensuring that our support creates lasting positive change. Members actively participate in the grant review process, bringing their diverse perspectives to evaluate each application based on community need and potential impact.

Partnership with HEAR Nashville

Our signature initiative is our partnership with HEAR Nashville (Hearing Education and Assistance Resource), which we helped establish in 2010. This vital program provides hearing aid assistance to qualified low-income adults in the Nashville area who would otherwise be unable to afford these essential devices.

Working closely with the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center and other hearing health professionals, HEAR Nashville has transformed countless lives by restoring the ability to communicate effectively. Recipients report improved employment opportunities, enhanced family relationships, and greater independence following their hearing aid fittings. The program includes comprehensive hearing evaluations, personalized device fittings, and ongoing support to ensure optimal outcomes.

Beyond financial assistance, our members volunteer their time to raise awareness about hearing health through community education programs and screening events. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to addressing a critical but often overlooked healthcare need in our community, creating a lasting legacy of improved hearing health throughout Middle Tennessee.
